A Cooperative Learning-Based Strategy for Developing Literary Literacy Skills Among Students of Major English at Faculty of Specific Education

The purpose of this study was todevelop the literary literacy skills among the English major students at the Faculty of Specific Education (Zagazig University), adapting a strategy based on cooperative learning. Thus,60 English major students in the 3rd level were randomly selected and divided into an experimental group (No.30) and a control group (No.30). The present study adopted the a two-group pre-post test design.The two groups were pre-tested. Then, the experimental group was taught using the proposed strategy which was based on the tasks and activities of cooperative learning in order to improve the literary literacy skills. The treatment continued for a month (two periods per week). After that, the two groups were post tested.
